Biography

For over 34 years, I've been a practicing attorney with a focus on bankruptcy law. I earned my Juris Doctor cum laude from the New England School of Law in Boston, followed by a Master of Laws in American Banking Law Studies from Boston University School of Law. My early career included serving as the primary bankruptcy counsel for the FDIC in New England from 1990 to 1996. In 1995, I achieved dual Board Certification in Consumer and Business Bankruptcy Law from the American Bankruptcy Board of Certification, and I’ve maintained this certification through re-certifications in 2000, 2005, and 2010.

Since June 1996, I’ve run my own boutique law practice in the Metro-Boston area, representing debtors, creditors, and trustees in bankruptcy cases. Additionally, I’ve taught bankruptcy law as an adjunct faculty member at Bentley University, New England School of Law, and Northeastern University Law School, and have conducted seminars for Massachusetts District Court Judges and Massachusetts Probate and Family Court Judges.

My colleagues and clients often commend my creative, 'outside the box' approach to bankruptcy cases. I’m known for finding practical solutions to complex problems, even in challenging situations, and for protecting my clients’ practical interests, not just their legal rights. This innovative problem-solving is a key aspect of my practice, and I take great pride in pushing the boundaries of what’s possible within the framework of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.
